Impact of Hypoxia–Hyperoxia Exposures on Cardiometabolic Risk Factors and TMAO Levels in Patients with Metabolic Syndrome

چکیده

Along with the known risk factors of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) constituting metabolic syndrome (MS), gut microbiome and some its metabolites, in particular trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO), are actively discussed. A prolonged stay under natural hypoxic conditions significantly multi-directionally changes ratio strains their metabolites feces blood, which is basis for using hypoxia preconditioning targeted effects on potential CVD. prospective randomized study included 65 patients (32 females) MS optimal medical therapy. Thirty-three underwent a course 15 intermittent hypoxic–hyperoxic exposures (IHHE group). The other 32 sham procedures (placebo Before after IHHE course, liver elastometry, biochemical blood tests, fecal sampling TMAO analysis (tandem mass spectrometry). No significant dynamics were detected both groups. In subgroup baseline values above reference (TMAO ≥ 5 μmol/l), there was reduction plasma levels. But degree total cholesterol (TCh), low-density lipoprotein (LDL), regression steatosis index more pronounced initially normal values. Despite interindividual variations, high values, reductions cardiometabolic hepatic indicators than controls. More research needed to objectify prognostic role possibilities correction adaptation techniques.

Lipid Profile and Leptin Levels in Patients with Metabolic Syndrome

Abstract Background and Objective: Metabolic syndrome called a cluster of several metabolic disorders is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. Genetic differences in leptin receptor gene are related with the concentration and activity of leptin in that these discrepancies can influence lipid levels. We aimed to determine the association between the leptin receptor gene p...

Otitis Media with Effusion in Children and the Impact of Risk Factors on Serum Cytokine Levels

Introduction:To evaluate the role of allergic-type and infectious-type cytokines in children with chronic otitis media with effusion (OME) Materials and Methods:We investigated serum levels of interleukins (IL)-4, IL-5, and IL-13, along with interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in 35 children with OME and 28 healthy contr...

Clinical Significance of Serum TNF-a and IL-6 Levels in Patients with Metabolic Syndrome

Background: Several components of metabolic syndrome (MetS) facilitate its diagnosis, including abdominal obesity, hyperlipidemia, high blood pressure, and insulin resistance. The production of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) and interleukin 6 (IL-6) seem to be associated with MetS components. The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between  the serum levels...

Metabolic Syndrome: Assessing Cardiometabolic Risk

The metabolic syndrome refers to a constellation of coronary heart disease risk factors, including obesity and abdominal fat distribution, disorders of glucose and lipid metabolism, and hypertension. Among the traditional risk factors, diabetes, hypertension, and abdominal obesity together account for approximately half of the risk of a first myocardial infarction, esp. in the Asian Indian popu...
